The Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov met with the Executive Director & Head of EDCF Operation Group Hong Soon Young.

The parties discussed joint projects aimed at developing digital technologies and startups.

The Minister noted the constant support from Eximbank in strengthening the digital economy.

“Korea is our important partner, its experience and support in digital technologies are of great importance”, says Mr. Shermatov. “Our goal is to improve digital services in Uzbekistan, create decent jobs for young people, and strengthen the country’s status worldwide”.

Hong Soon Young noted the prospects for introducing successful systems and projects created by Korea in Uzbekistan’s digital sphere and stressed that they will be of great importance for supporting young people and creating high-paying jobs in the digital economy. A proposal was put forward to modernize Uzbekistan’s public digital services in cooperation with Korean partners.

The parties discussed the implementation of projects in IT education and the improvement of the startup ecosystem.
