The Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with senators of France André Reichardt and Nathalie Goulet.

Issues of further development of inter-parliamentary relations, organization of the visit of business community representatives of France, as well as further development of cooperation between the cities of Tashkent and Strasbourg were discussed.

Currently, the Inter-Parliamentary Group for Cooperation with the French Senate is successfully operating in the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Inter-Parliamentary Group “France – Central Asia” in the Senate of French Republic. The delegation of the upper house of parliament attended the celebrations on the occasion of the 100th Anniversary of the End of the First World War, which took place in Paris on November 11 this year.

At the meeting, the importance of holding the first Asian Forum on Human Rights in Samarkand on November 22-23 this year, which will be attended by French senators, was noted.

The sides discussed issues of further strengthening inter-parliamentary cooperation, ensuring security in the region, prospects for developing relations between the business circles of the two countries.
