A meeting of the initiators for creation of an ecological political party was held at the International Trade Center, in Tashkent.

Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Central Council of the Ecological Movement of Uzbekistan Boriy Alikhanov and others noted that today issues of environmental protection and its rehabilitation are of current importance and require immediate action.

The participants discussed issues of creation of an organizing committee, which will prepare the constituent documents of an ecological political party, forming its members and convene a constituent congress.

The ecological political party will focus on ensuring environmental protection to become a common cause of all citizens.

After the discussion, the participants approved a proposal on creating an ecological political party that will unite all the forces of society to provide future generations with healthy natural environment in order to develop the economy, social sphere, and carry out systemic changes aimed at protecting the health of citizens.

From among the representatives of the general public who are not indifferent to issues of environmental protection and public health, an organizing committee was established for creating an ecological political party. The organizing committee is entrusted with the task of preparing a roadmap for creation of a party, preparation of constituent documents and resolution of other organizational and legal issues.

After discussing the proposals and recommendations, the participants decided to name the party as the Ecological Party of Uzbekistan.
