Uzbekistan – EIB: cooperation develops

On November 22, a meeting with the Vice-President of the European Investment Bank Vazil Hudak was held at the International Business Center, in Tashkent. Joint projects were discussed at the event.
The EIB provides long-term loans, supports economic projects in countries that have established cooperation with the European Union.
In January this year, by the resolution of the President, the Framework Agreement on activities of the EIB in the Republic of Uzbekistan was approved between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the European Investment Bank. Based on this document, the bank provided loans for projects on improving water use infrastructure in the country and supporting energy efficiency improvements. To finance these projects, the bank has already allocated funds in the amount of 200 million euros. In addition, in the course of the upcoming process of financing projects, the bank plans to allocate a loan of 300 million euros.
