According to the EBRD’s Regional Economic Prospects, Uzbekistan’s economy is expected to grow by 5.6 percent in 2021. A recovery in private consumption and investment in the country is also forecasted.

In addition, over 10 months of this year, the trade turnover of Uzbekistan with the countries of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) has significantly increased. In particular, the ECO countries are the main trade partners of Uzbekistan. In 2019, the trade turnover was about $9 billion, while in 2020 this figure was $8.3 billion.

In the first 10 months of this year, compared to the same period in 2020, the trade turnover of Uzbekistan with the ECO countries increased by 35.5 percent – from 6.5 to 8.8 billion dollars. The share of ECO countries in the total trade turnover of Uzbekistan increased from 21.5 to 27 percent.
