On November 11-13, 2019, Uzbekistan delegation led by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulaziz Kamilov visited Brussels.

Within the framework of the visit, the 15th meeting of Uzbekistan – EU Cooperation Council and bilateral meetings with leaders of the institutions of the European Union, the Belgian Senate and NATO Parliamentary Assembly, as well as presentation of the investment and trade-economic potential of the country, were held.

During the negotiations, the current state and prospects for development of bilateral relations were discussed. Views were exchanged on pressing regional and international issues.

The European side welcomed the completion of ratification by Uzbekistan of all 27 international conventions and agreements necessary for obtaining the status of beneficiary GSP Plus, and confirmed its readiness to assist in preparation of the application of the Uzbek side for obtaining this status.

The EU will also support Uzbek suppliers in expanding the range of products manufactured in Uzbekistan and their volumes for export to the markets of the EU countries.
