Delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan led by Deputy Prime Minister N.Otajonov met with Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development Angel Gurría.

Within the framework of participation in OECD Eurasia Week, on November 22 in Paris, a meeting of the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan led by Deputy Prime Minister N.Otajonov with Secretary-General of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development Angel Gurría was held.

At the meeting, the sides discussed prospects for further cooperation between Uzbekistan and the OECD in priority areas, including in development of regional trade, transport connectivity.

The progress and further implementation of a large multi-year project “Increasing trade and transport connectivity in Central Asia” (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan), devoted to transport policy and infrastructure issues, in collaboration with the International Transport Forum (ITF), were also discussed.

According to the Ministry for Foreign Trade, following the negotiations, the parties agreed to organize the visit of OECD Secretary-General Angel Gurría to the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2019.
