The auditor-general of the National Audit Office of the People's Republic of China, Hou Kai, visited the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The importance of interaction between the Accounts Chamber and Parliament in the process of forming the state budget and its effective use was noted during the meeting with the Chairperson of the Senate, Tanzila Narbayeva.

The sides exchanged views on cooperating with China in this sphere, professional development of personnel, and improvement of the legislative system in this area.

The parties also focused on the importance of a gender approach in developing budget policy, particularly in areas such as trade and economics, agriculture, education, healthcare, and the development of women’s entrepreneurship.

As a part of the development of the inter-regional dialogue, an agreement was reached to launch projects aimed at strengthening parliamentary control over the formation of local budgets.
