Director of the Institute of Zoology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Qiao Gexia, and Director of the National Zoological Museum of China, Professor Chen Jun, visited the Institute of Zoology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

During the visit, the guests took part in an international conference on “Science – the foundation of New Uzbekistan”, dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Director of the Institute of Zoology of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Kholmatov discussed with international partners issues of bilateral cooperation with the Institute of Zoology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, conducting doctoral research of Uzbekistan’s young scientists in China, and new joint projects.

The issues of creating a joint Uzbekistan – China Center at the Institute of Zoology and opening joint laboratories on its basis were agreed upon.
