Tashkent hosts Western Asia Youth Championship.

The championship organized by the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the National Olympic Committee and Uzbekistan Chess Federation, is being attended by chess players at the age of 6-20 from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Sri Lanka, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the United Arab Emirates and Uzbekistan.

On the first day of the championship, chess players demonstrated their skills in rapid.

48 medals were played in this championship. Uzbekistan’s Shakhzod Islomov, Shamsiddin Vokhidov, Humoyun Bekmurodov, Akobirkhon Saydaliyev, Nodirbek Yokubboyev, Zaynura Abrorova, Shakhzoda Khasanova, Afruza Khamdamova, Umida Omonova, Sitora Saparova won gold medals.

In these competitions, Uzbekistan’s chess players also won 7 silver and 10 bronze medals.

Now participants will spend 9 rounds on standard chess. After determining the winners in these competitions, on November 22, chess players will compete in blitz tournament.
