The Agency for Migration, together with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Employment, the Committee on Family and Women’s Affairs, and law enforcement bodies, is conducting the charity campaign “Return to the Homeland”, dedicated to the World Day Against Trafficking in Persons.

The main goal is to bring back citizens of Uzbekistan who have found themselves in difficult circumstances abroad and to ensure their effective reintegration into society.

Women and children held in deportation centers in foreign countries will be repatriated based on lists received from the competent authorities of those states. The return of citizens who have fallen into severe financial hardship abroad will be organized based on the conclusions of consular offices or the representative offices of the Agency for Migration.

Practical measures will be taken to ensure the effective reintegration of returning citizens. They will be supported through targeted subsidies, concessional loans, and state programs for entrepreneurship and self-employment. To facilitate efficient work, the Migration Agency operates 24/7 Telegram bots and short hotline numbers. The Migration Fund will cover transportation expenses related to the repatriation of citizens.

This campaign is not only a benevolent initiative aimed at providing material and moral support to citizens who have found themselves in difficult circumstances abroad but also clear proof that every citizen, regardless of location, is under the protection of the state.

Such measures have become part of the broader efforts to regulate migration and support labor migrants that have been undertaken in the country in recent years.

The campaign will run until August 30.
