In the qualifying round teams of 40 countries of the continent participated in the competition, divided into 8 groups. The National Team of Uzbekistan, which has taken place in the Group H with teams from North Korea, Bahrain, the Philippines and Yemen, by defeating rival teams in six games of the seven, scored 18 points and ranked first in the group.

From the very beginning of the game, held at the Bunyodkor Stadium, our football team took the lead. The support of football fans filled the stadium gave good results. 

The members of our national team demonstrated both physical and tactical superiority and defeated the national team of the Kingdom of Bahrain with the score 1:0 due to a goal of Sardor Rashidov.

Thus, Uzbekistan National Football team with 21 points won the first place in the group H and received a ticket to the final stage of the qualifying rounds of the 2018 FIFA World Cup/2019 AFC Asian Cup joint-qualifiers. The list of participating team in the final stage will be announced in April.
