Jizzakh hosts the Asian Belt Wrestling Championships in Uzbek belt wrestling (Belbogli Kurash), Kazakh Kuresi (the traditional wrestling style of Kazakhstan), and Alysh (the traditional national sport of Kyrgyzstan).
The championships are organized by the United World Wrestling (UWW), the Asian Belt Wrestling Federation, the Ministry of Youth Policy and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Hokimiyat and the Prosecutor’s Office of Jizzakh region, the Belt Wrestling Federation of Uzbekistan, as well as several other ministries and organizations. Wrestlers from almost 20 countries, including Uzbekistan, India, Iran, Indonesia, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan, are participating in the championships.

The winners in Kyrgyz wrestling and Uzbek belt wrestling were determined. Men competed in eight, and women in five weight categories.

Among men, the title of Asian champion was awarded to Jamoliddin Nematullayev (up to 57 kg), Doniyor Uralov (62 kg), Oybek Sultanov (68 kg), Nusratbek Sultonboyev (75 kg), Khusniddin Ruziyev (82 kg), Jasurbek Isroilov (90 kg), Nadirbek Akhatjonov (up to 100 kg) and Bakhtiyorjon Jumaboyev (over 100 kg).
Farangiz Abdunabiyeva (up to 52 kg), Manzuraoy Muyiddinova (58 kg), Maftunabonu Makhmudova (up to 66 kg), Dilafruz Mamajonova (76 kg), and Sakhobat Sheraliyeva (over 76 kg) won gold among women.
In belt wrestling competitions, athletes of Uzbekistan won the title of champion in eight weight categories among men and five weight categories among women. The winners were awarded gold medals, monetary and valuable prizes.
