Uzbekistan – Argentina: A new stage of cooperation
Despite the considerable geographic distance, relations between Uzbekistan and Argentina have taken on new substance in recent years.
Diplomatic relations between the two countries were established in 1993, and the open and pragmatic foreign policy of New Uzbekistan has elevated these relations to a qualitatively new level.
Today, Uzbekistan and Argentina cooperate within the UN and other reputable international organizations.
Argentina supports Uzbekistan’s aspiration to join the WTO and highly appreciates the country’s initiatives in regional security.
Turning to economic prospects, it becomes clear that Argentina’s extensive experience as one of the world’s leading agricultural countries is of significant interest to Uzbekistan.
At present, issues related to introducing Argentina’s experience in livestock farming, veterinary medicine, and modern water-saving technologies to Uzbekistan are being actively explored.
Within trade and economic cooperation, the strategic goal is to consistently increase Uzbekistan’s exports of chemical fertilizers and textile products and to stimulate imports of high-tech equipment and food products from Argentina.
The Latin America News Agency (LANA) regularly and objectively covers the large-scale reforms underway in Uzbekistan.
In one of his articles, agency Director Juan Manuel Fonrouge described Uzbekistan as “the economic heart of Central Asia”. He also actively promotes the tourism potential of Samarkand, Bukhara, and Khiva to Spanish-speaking audiences.
The cultural closeness of the two peoples is reflected in the similarity of their national values and their traditions of hospitality.
Experience shows that cultural and humanitarian ties and information exchange know no boundaries. Mutual trust and strategic interests contribute to the development of new areas of cooperation.
