Uzbekistan and the Republic of Korea to create a laboratory for testing solar panels
The Uzbek Agency for Technical Regulation, with the participation of representatives of the Korea Institute of Energy Technology Evaluation and Planning (KETEP) and the Korea Testing Laboratory (KTL), discussed a project on creating a laboratory for testing solar photovoltaic panels.
This initiative, planned for implementation in 2026-2029 with a grant from the Korean government, will strengthen the technical infrastructure of Uzbekistan’s renewable energy sector. It will be possible not only to test, but also to evaluate panels manufactured in the country and imported in accordance with international requirements.

The project provides for the introduction of international IEC standards for testing solar photovoltaic panels, the development of modern testing methods, the provision of high-precision laboratory equipment and advanced training of domestic specialists.
According to experts, the creation of this laboratory is of great importance for the harmonization of the country’s technical regulation system with international practice, ensuring the quality and safety of products in the renewable energy sector, increasing the export potential and competitiveness of national producers in foreign markets.

All this will create a solid foundation for the formation of a modern testing infrastructure in green energy, the introduction of innovative technologies and the production of products that meet international standards.
