The visit of the delegation of the Ministry of Justice of Uzbekistan to the Republic of Korea continues.

A bilateral meeting between Deputy Minister of Justice Khudoyor Meliyev and Deputy Minister of Government Legislation of the Republic of Korea Kim Chang-beom took place in Sejong.

Representatives of the Ministry of Government Legislation provided detailed information on the projects of Official Development Assistance (ODA) and the Council of Asian Legislative Institutions (CALI).

In particular, the ODA project provides for the digitalization, dissemination, and standardization of legal information, the organization of legal information portals, and training in 17 countries in Asia and the Middle East.

At the same time, the CALI project is planned to launch in 2025. The main functions of the organization are joint research on legislative issues that may arise in the future, improvement of legislative process management, digitalization of legal information, and adaptation of legislative documents to modern conditions.

Following the presentations, Uzbekistan was invited to join these projects as an essential strategic partner in Central Asia. The parties agreed to establish cooperation links to implement the ODA and CALI projects.

Following the meeting, a measures program was signed to implement essential areas identified in the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the two organizations in 2009.

Within the framework of this program, practical cooperation has been agreed upon in 2024-2025 on the system of legislative planning, analysis of legislative acts, legal education, and other issues.
