Uzbekistan and Lithuania Parliaments will support mutually beneficial initiatives

A delegation of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan led by the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agrarian, Water Management, and Ecology Issues Anvar Tuychyiev visited the Republic of Lithuania.

A meeting of members of parliamentary groups on cooperation between Uzbekistan and Lithuania was held during the visit. The participants considered the current state and prospects of interparliamentary cooperation between the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania.

The significance of sharing expertise in parliamentary oversight, refining legislation, regional growth, environmental conservation, the efficient use of water resources, and other urgent matters was also emphasized.

The parties stressed the need to make more effective use of the parliamentary groups’ potential to consistently promote friendly relations between the two states, to regularly organize mutual visits, and to expand practical cooperation.

Following the visit, the parties agreed to strengthen interparliamentary cooperation, support mutually beneficial initiatives, and enhance interaction between the parliaments of Uzbekistan and Lithuania.
