Director General of the National Office for the Implementation of Innovation and Technology Transfer under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Farkhod Jumayev, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation of the Tashkent State Technical University named after Islam Karimov, Sardor Donayev, Director of the Uzbek-Japanese Youth Innovation Center at the Tashkent State Technical University Saidmurod Niyazbekov arrived in Japan as part of the project “Innovative approach of research institutions in management”.

Members of the delegation visited the head office of the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and got acquainted with its activities.

A meeting was also held with JICA Deputy Director General Ueda Daisuke. Information was presented on the cooperation results and the project’s first stage implemented by the Uzbek-Japanese Youth Innovation Center and JICA. The second phase of the project is currently ongoing.

Issues of enhancing and strengthening cooperation with JICA, attracting volunteer teachers to the educational process, and organizing short-term educational programs and courses were discussed.

The delegation also got acquainted with the activities of the University of Tokyo, one of the prestigious higher education institutions in Japan.

The parties agreed to cooperate in preparing joint scientific projects, organizing scientific internships for master’s and doctoral students, internships, and working at university enterprises.
