The Minister of Water Resources Shavkat Khamrayev met with a Finnish delegation. The Uzbek side provided information on the large-scale reforms being implemented in the sector under the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the directions for improving the water resource management system, and the introduction of modern technologies.

The Finnish specialists, in turn, shared information on rational water use in their country, enhancements to management systems based on digital technologies, and innovative projects in the water sector.

During the meeting, the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministry and the Finnish Water Forum was discussed.

The sides agreed to expand cooperation in water management and in the exchange of experience in education and scientific research. As part of the visit, the guests were introduced to the activities of the “Suvchilar Maktabi” (Water Specialists’ School) and the laboratories of the Research Institute of Irrigation and Water Problems.
