Uzbekistan and Latvia initiate a project to boost rural employment opportunities

The Ministry of Employment and Poverty Reduction of Uzbekistan, in partnership with the European Union, is implementing a project to enhance the economic potential and efficiency of household plots and farms in Uzbekistan.
The project aims to boost incomes for household plot and farm owners, enhance employment, expand income opportunities in rural areas, and improve food security.
The development of agricultural cooperation is expected to enable the introduction of new production technologies, increase market access for small producers, lower costs, integrate products into value chains, and establish sustainable income sources for the population.
Uzbekistan and Denmark have agreed to exchange business delegations

Following an initiative by diplomats from the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Stockholm, an online meeting was conducted with Peter Lassen, Director of the Department for European Neighbourhood at Denmark’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Jens Holst-Nielsen, Deputy Director of the Confederation of Danish Industry.
The parties talked about advancing trade, economic, investment, and technological cooperation, increasing direct contacts between business communities, and strengthening dialogue among private sector representatives.
The parties focused on attracting high-tech and innovative Danish firms to key sectors of Uzbekistan’s economy, such as mining, energy efficiency, the chemical industry, fish farming, livestock breeding, and agriculture.
