Tashkent hosted the Uzbekistan – Belarus Business Forum, bringing together more than 200 representatives from the business circles of both countries.

During the event, Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and Prime Minister of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Turchin emphasized the consistent development of a strategic partnership between the states and the growth of practical cooperation.

It was emphasized that thanks to the regular dialogue between President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko, bilateral cooperation in almost all areas has reached a qualitatively new level.

According to information announced at the forum, the volume of mutual trade is steadily growing and approaching the $1 billion mark. Trade and economic cooperation remain a key link in relations between Uzbekistan and Belarus. The complementarity of the economies and the significant potential for expanding cooperation were noted not only in industry but also in agriculture, pharmaceuticals, logistics, finance, and IT.

Issues of expanding trade and economic ties, deepening industrial cooperation, implementing joint investment projects, and localizing production were discussed at the event. Special attention was paid to cooperation in mechanical engineering, agricultural machinery, the food industry, the textile and petrochemical industries, as well as logistics and woodworking.

In addition, the two countries’ entrepreneurs held B2B and B2G meetings to sign new contracts and investment agreements.
