Uzbekistan and Austria to establish cooperation on personnel training
A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed in Tashkent between the Agency for Governance Efficiency under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the Agency for Vocational Education, and IMC Krems University of Applied Sciences in Austria.
This memorandum aims to train qualified personnel who meet international standards for the hospitality, tourism management, hotel management, and service sectors, strengthen the institutional capacity of educational institutions, and modernize the vocational and higher education system.
According to the document, a joint faculty specializing in tourism and hotel management will be established at Bukhara State University and Namangan State Technical University.

Based on Austria’s experience, International Schools of Hotel Management will be established at the Bukhara Tourism and Cultural Heritage Technical School and Technical School No. 1 in Chortoq district of Namangan region, where dual education programs will be introduced.
At the second stage, students with a bachelor’s degree will study hotel management and gastronomy and receive a hotel management diploma from IMC Krems.
A training course will be held in Austria’s Semmering ski resort area for 10 tourism specialists from Uzbekistan. Upon completion, participants will receive certificates from Austrian tourism schools and the International Tourism Academy.
In October of this year, an international symposium on tourism in Bukhara is planned, and as part of it, a cultural event dedicated to Austrian classical music will be organized.
The memorandum has been concluded for a period of three years, and in the course of its implementation, close cooperation will be established among government agencies, higher and vocational education institutions, and industry representatives.
