The 13th International Festival “Sharq Taronalari” was held in Samarkand from August 26 to 30 this year.

Along with many foreign guests, Vice President of the Uzbekistan-Bavaria Friendship Society Karl-Heinz Breitzmann was invited to this festival.

Mr. Karl-Heinz Breitzmann highly appreciated the tourism potential of Uzbekistan and this prestigious festival:

– When I first visited Uzbekistan, I felt the peace-loving and hospitality of the people living here and was pleasantly surprised by the prosperity reigning in the country.

In Uzbekistan, all the necessary conditions have been created for tourists, and the infrastructure has been established – from air travel to comfortable hotels and a public transport network. I was surprised by the tranquility of the people and the peace reigning in the country. With each step, I became more and more convinced that Uzbekistan is the safest tourist destination.

Although Tashkent is a megacity in terms of population, I have not seen any negative aspects related to this. Of course, the Chorsu market in the old city left an indelible impression on me. Walking through the mahallas, I saw the locals’ sincerity and kindness, even to strangers. This brought tears of joy to my eyes.

The “Sharq Taronalari” festival was organized at a very high level. It was a great honor for me to participate in the official opening ceremony with the participation of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. I enjoyed reporting on the historical monuments of the ancient city of Samarkand, the progress of the “Sharq Taronalari” festival, and artists’ performances. Taking this opportunity, I hope our countries’ friendship and cooperation will strengthen. And I wish the hospitable Uzbekistan people well-being, peace, and prosperity.
