India hosts Surajkund International Crafts Mela 2022 Festival.

Uzbekistan is taking part in the event as a partner state in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, the Hunarmand Association and the Embassy of Uzbekistan in India.

The participants highly appreciated the cooperation between the two states and thanked Uzbekistan for its active participation in the festival.

The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to India Dilshod Akhatov thanked the government of the country and the state of Haryana for the invitation to participate in this colorful event as a partner state. The special symbolism of the festival during the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and India, the spring holiday of Navruz and the Holi Festival was emphasized.

It was noted that the festival plays an important role in establishing and developing direct cooperation between Fergana region and the state of Haryana. In addition, the participants were informed about the first International Festival of Gold Embroidery and Jewelry, which will be held in Bukhara in May 2022, and invited to participate in it.

Surajkund International Crafts Mela 2022 will be held from March 19 to April 4 and is expected to attract over 1 million visitors. This year it will be attended by representatives of over 30 foreign countries and almost all states of India with their handicrafts and applied arts.
