Turkiston Palace in Uzbekistan hosted a solemn event dedicated to October 21 – the Uzbek Language Day.

The event was attended by representatives of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Cabinet of Ministers, the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, the Legislative Chamber, authorized persons of various ministries and agencies, organizations, professors and teachers of higher education institutions, scientists, writers and poets, spirituality propagandists, students.

Festive congratulations of the Head of the state Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the people of Uzbekistan on the occasion of October 21 – the Uzbek Language Day was read out by the Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Khayriddin Sultanov.

Today about 50 million people in the world speak our native Uzbek language. This ancient and richest language is studied with great interest in many countries of the world.

Uzbekistan has developed a Concept for the Development of the Uzbek Language and Improvement of the Language Policy in 2020-2030, and this document is being consistently implemented. As a current issue, attention is paid to the establishment of work on teaching and learning the Uzbek language in educational institutions by the spirit of the times. The Department for Spirituality and the Development of the State Language under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan conducts various creative projects, competitions and conferences related to the popularization of the native language, publishes new books, manuals and dictionaries.

Chairman of Uzbekistan Writers Union, People’s Poet Sirojiddin Sayyid noted that the President’s holiday greetings to the people of Uzbekistan on the occasion of this date will open up new prospects for the development of our native language.

At the solemn event, valuable gifts and diplomas were awarded to representatives of organizations and agencies that became winners of various directions and nominations of the Uzbek Language Contest, held for the third time.

Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Odil Abdurakhmanov, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Chairman of the State Committee for Family and Women Zulaykho Mahkamova took part in the solemn event, which ended with a large concert program with the participation of masters of the art.
