The Uzbekistan National News Agency (UzA) plays a key role in providing timely information about the country’s domestic and foreign policies and the large-scale transformations in society.

As the official state news source, UzA delivers information in a convenient and engaging format, promptly and accurately covering events in Uzbekistan and around the world in Uzbek, Russian, English, French, German, Spanish, Arabic, Kazakh, and Chinese. 

As is known, on February 5, 1992, by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the agency was reorganized into the Uzbekistan National News Agency (UzA). According to the resolution of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev “On measures for the further improvement of the activities of the Uzbekistan National News Agency” issued on December 2, 2019, UzA was officially designated as the country’s primary news agency for disseminating socio-political information, further enhancing its operations.

UzA maintains close contacts with around 20 news agencies and significant publications worldwide and actively participates in the Alliance of Turkic News Agencies (ATNA), the Council of Heads of State News Agencies of the Commonwealth of Independent States (Inform Council), and the Union of OIC News Agencies. 

The geographical reach of UzA’s website readership continues to expand each year. Currently, users from over 100 countries, including Russia, the United States, the Netherlands, China, Germany, Kazakhstan, Norway, Sweden, the United Kingdom, Singapore, France, Türkiye, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Poland, Estonia, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Canada, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Turkmenistan, India, Egypt, the Czech Republic, Japan, Lithuania, Australia, Pakistan, Ireland, Indonesia, Spain, Malaysia, Austria, Iran, Denmark, Switzerland, and Finland, actively engage with the agency’s content. 

According to the analysis by Brand Analytics, a leading media monitoring system in the CIS, UzA’s website ranked among the top three most cited publications in Uzbekistan in the third quarter of last year. Additionally, the number of regular followers on social media has surpassed one million.
