UNFPA and SAFIA Confectionery have launched a partnership to implement joint initiatives to advance gender equality, empower women, youth, and vulnerable groups of the population, and raise awareness of reproductive health and rights.

The partnership covers a wide range of areas, including empowerment of women and youth, prevention of and response to gender-based violence, development of professional skills and promotion of women’s employment, promotion of reproductive health and rights, raising public awareness through awareness-raising campaigns, and the introduction of family-friendly and inclusive workplace policies.

In partnership with UNFPA, educational events on family planning, maternal health, and women’s rights are planned for SAFIA staff and local communities. An information campaign will also be launched to raise awareness of reproductive health.

Particular attention will be paid to the creation of family-oriented policies aimed at ensuring equal opportunities for men and women, supporting employees with disabilities and victims of violence, as well as involving men in programs on health, well-being, and gender equality.

SAFIA aims to become an example for other companies in Uzbekistan, demonstrating how business can contribute to social change.
