A delegation led by the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Central Asia, the Head of the UN Regional Centre for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia (UNRCCA) Kaha Imnadze visited Termez.

The delegation included the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Uzbekistan Sabine Machl, the UNODC Regional Representative for Afghanistan, Central Asia, Iran, and Pakistan Oliver Stolpe, and the IOM Chief of Mission for Uzbekistan Andrew Gray.

The delegation met with the Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev and discussed important issues of ensuring regional stability and development.

UN representatives visited the Termez Cargo Center and the Termez International Trade Center.

The guests got acquainted with the business school, showrooms of electrical and jewelry products manufactured in Uzbekistan, a logistics center, and other facilities. They were informed about the conditions and opportunities created in the zone and the benefits and preferences provided.

During the visit to the educational center for training Afghan citizens, the delegation members noted that education and cultural exchange play an essential role in strengthening mutual understanding and cooperation between the two countries.
