After the President’s visit...
On July 27-28, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Fergana region and launched about ten new facilities.
In particular, in Fergana Regional Territorial Branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Cardiology, the buildings of the departments of interventional cardiology and cardiac surgery were put into operation, as well as, after a major overhaul, the 7-storey building of Fergana branch of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care, a new building of the department reception and diagnosis were put into operation.
After the visit of the Head of state, we got acquainted with the conditions in these medical institutions.
From the first days of his activity as Head of state, the President pays special attention to improving the population’s health and the quality of medical services.
24.1 billion UZS were allocated from the local budget to construct buildings for the departments of interventional cardiology and cardiac surgery of the Fergana Regional Territorial Branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Cardiology. 32 types of equipment have been supplied.
The main thing is that now it is possible to provide residents of the region with more than 60 types of high-tech cardiosurgical services.
“During a visit to Fergana region, the President of our country opened the buildings of the departments of interventional cardiology and cardiac surgery of the Fergana Regional Territorial Branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center for Cardiology”, says the head of Fergana Regional Health Department Abduqayum Tukhtakulov. – Our institution is equipped with the most modern medical equipment. For example, a heart-lung machine for heart surgery and a state-of-the-art anesthesia machine. The angiographic equipment is the only one in Uzbekistan regarding its functions. This device is safe for both the patient and the specialist.

It should be noted that earlier cardiosurgical procedures were not performed in Fergana region. Patients had to travel long distances to the neighboring region or Tashkent. Unfortunately, many did not reach the capital. Currently, we can provide cardiac surgery to patients of all ages.
The hospital can serve not only residents of our region, neighboring regions, and citizens of Kyrgyzstan. This will contribute to developing medical tourism. Generally, we can carry out up to 3,000 high-tech operations annually.
To use modern equipment, our hospital will need highly qualified specialists, including the branch director Kamoliddin Rakhmonov. He worked for 18 years at the Bakulev Scientific Center for Cardiovascular Surgery (Russia) and performed over 7,000 surgical operations.
“Completing my doctoral dissertation, I returned to Uzbekistan”, says Kamoliddin Rakhmonov. – The conditions created here, attention to medicine, and reforms carried out by the President of the country contributed to the return of another of our compatriots. He is an experienced specialist who has worked at the Center for Cardiovascular Surgery for 22 years. I am happy to report that our hospital has all the necessary conditions and potential for various surgical operations.
As a result of the construction and reconstruction work carried out for 32 billion UZS in the Fergana branch of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care, admission rates have been increased from 150 to 355 people.
“Our branch received 162 types of medical products worth $3.6 million”, says Sherali Yuldashev, Director of the Fergana branch of the Republican Scientific Center for Emergency Medical Care. – In the reconstructed 24-hour emergency department, separate “corridors” are organized for patients based on the severity of the disease: a “red corridor” for patients in critical condition, a yellow one for emergency care, and a green one for outpatient care. A separate shock room, a small operating room, a treatment room, a room for serving children, rooms for a traumatologist, neurosurgeon, surgeon, otolaryngologist, therapist, and other narrow specialists, a laboratory, as well as a department of functional diagnostics have been organized to provide emergency medical care to patients by medical and diagnostic standards.
Most importantly, due to equipping this institution with modern medical equipment, 60 types of laparoscopic, thoracoscopic, and endovascular surgical methods have been introduced, and an opportunity has been created for high-tech operations.
