As part of implementing agreements reached at the China – Central Asia Summit in Xi’an, several projects are underway.
One of them is a program to train professional farmers in Central Asian countries. Over the past three years, 300 farmers from the region have been trained in modern agricultural technologies in China’s Shaanxi Province.
The practical effectiveness of this cooperation is also clearly demonstrated by the experience of Uzbek farmer Jasur Khasanov. Thanks to his participation in the program, he was able to introduce modern agricultural technologies into his farm.

“Previously, water was used inefficiently on our farm”, the farmer says. “After participating in a training program organized in the city of Weinan in December 2023, we introduced a drip irrigation system. This enabled us to save water and increase yields.
The training program for professional farmers from Central Asian countries was completed at Weinan Vocational and Technical College. All 300 participants returned home with practical knowledge.

The program covers modern agriculture, crop production, livestock farming, and agricultural management. The training process combines theory and practice. Participants enhance their skills in areas including water-saving irrigation, greenhouse farming, selecting crop varieties suited to arid climates, mechanization, and the use of digital technologies in agriculture. Classes are conducted with due consideration for the region’s agricultural needs.
Within the program, special attention is given to cultural exchange, enabling participants to gain an understanding of traditional Chinese culture.
According to experts, the project is critical to expanding practical cooperation between China and Central Asia in agriculture, introducing advanced agricultural technologies, and ensuring the region’s sustainable development.
