Traditional music of Eastern people – an invaluable spiritual heritage

Samarkand hosted international scientific practical conference “Prospects for development of traditional musical art of Eastern people” within the framework of the XII International Music Festival “Sharq Taronalari”.
Current problems of formation and development of Eastern music, traditions of “master – apprentice” school, and preservation of the musical heritage were discussed at the conference.
The event was attended by about 30 art historians, composers from the United States, the United Kingdom, China, Korea, Russia, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Iran, Afghanistan, France, Norway, Moldova and Uzbekistan.
At the first meeting of the two-day conference on “History and Heritage”, reports were made by famous historians in the field of studying world art and traditions of musical culture. Presentations took place on the topic of the meeting.
On the second day of the conference, a meeting was held on the “Theory and Practice”. At the meeting, reports of local and foreign art scholars and researchers were heard.
Following the event, a presentation of new literature was held, and a conference declaration was adopted.
