The attractive business environment in Tashkent, regional centers, and major district cities is fostering a stable class of entrepreneurs.
For example, 62 percent of the country’s total industrial output and 57 percent of services are concentrated in 50 districts and cities with high entrepreneurial potential. Three years ago, the additional revenue to local budgets in these districts totaled 875 billion UZS. Now, they receive 8.5 times more, that is, an additional 7 trillion 400 billion UZS.
Therefore, it was emphasized that the hokims of these 50 districts must fully utilize their capacities and work diligently to increase revenues by improving infrastructure.
In this regard, a business plan has been developed for 12 districts of the capital, identifying an additional 5.5 trillion UZS in revenue sources for the budget. For example, Almazar district is expected to generate an additional 525 billion UZS for the local budget this year.
For instance, a 2-kilometer section of the “Kaykovus” canal runs through eight mahallas in the Old City. The hokims’ assistants from these eight mahallas will now unite into a single project group and, based on an integrated concept, work to develop trade, service, and recreational infrastructure along the canal.
Under the same approach, project groups consisting of hokims’ assistants will also be established in such areas as tourism, education, healthcare services, renovation, lakeside zones, and busy streets.
