Samarkand hosts the UN Public Service Forum.
Participants are exchanging experiences, discussing innovative approaches, and expanding cooperation on such global issues as public administration, effective service, digital transformation, and human capital development.

Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov and Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Uzbekistan Akiko Fujii discussed data management issues, the development of the ecosystem of artificial intelligence in the country, and digital government. Previously, government agencies did not provide data systematically, but now public and private sector participants exchange information systematically using a centralized platform. This allows for data quality control and reduces the risk of leakage.

Issues of expanding cooperation between the public and private sectors to improve the information base and train qualified personnel, as well as further enhance the education system in this area, were discussed at the meeting.

Akiko Fujii noted that the UNDP continues to support the digital transformation processes in Uzbekistan.
