The reports of the heads of the diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan in Türkiye and Austria were heard at an expanded meeting of the Senate Committee on International Relations, Foreign Economic Relations, Foreign Investment and Tourism.
The reports touched upon the development of interstate relations, attracting investments, increasing exports of national products, stimulating the tourist flow, as well as the implementation of roadmaps adopted during high-level and top-level visits.
At the meeting, it was once again emphasized that the primary goal of Uzbekistan’s foreign policy, as outlined by the Head of State, is to attract substantial foreign investment to the country, increase the share of domestic products on the global market, and enhance Uzbekistan’s international reputation.
The work carried out by the diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan in Türkiye and Austria in 2024-2025 to expand cooperation in trade-economic, investment, export, logistics, transport, agricultural, scientific-cultural, tourism, and external migration issues, as well as to ensure the implementation of the tasks outlined in the relevant roadmaps, was discussed in detail.
In particular, the importance of ensuring the implementation of the tasks outlined during the video selection meetings held under the chairmanship of the President of Uzbekistan on increasing exports of fruit and vegetable and food products, using export opportunities and reserves in the textile industry, finding sales markets for exporting enterprises abroad, obtaining certificates and permits for national products, and creating trading houses and warehouses abroad, importing products of foreign brands and obtaining certificates for Uzbekistan enterprises, was noted.
It was emphasized that to increase the effectiveness of the diplomatic missions of Uzbekistan and eliminate existing problems, they should establish regular and direct contacts with relevant ministries and departments, hokimiyats, and local councils.
Specific tasks were set, and appropriate recommendations were provided to deliver high-quality consular and legal assistance to Uzbekistan citizens temporarily residing in these countries, to strengthen ties with trading houses and local companies, and to support Uzbekistan entrepreneurs in promoting the country’s trade, economic, and investment interests.
The relevant decision was made at the meeting.
