The Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis Nuriddin Ismailov met with delegation members led by the Secretary General of the Commonwealth of Independent States Sergey Lebedev.
The guests were informed about the large-scale reforms being implemented in the country within the framework of the priority tasks defined in the renewed Constitution and the Uzbekistan 2030 Strategy, the activities of the Legislative Chamber, as well as the elections held on October 27.
Mr. Lebedev expressed his deep gratitude for the reception and noted that 167 international observers from eight CIS countries observed the voting process. He highly appreciated the attitude towards voters, especially citizens with disabilities, and all the conditions created for them. He emphasized that the elections in Uzbekistan were organized and at a high level.

The Speaker of the Legislative Chamber also met with members of the delegation led by the Deputy President of the Senate of the Malaysian Parliament Nur Jazlan Mohamed.
The guest expressed gratitude to the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan for the invitation to observe the elections and the warm welcome and highly appreciated the socio-political changes that have taken place in Uzbekistan. He noted that he sees with his own eyes the results of consistent reforms carried out in the country by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev for the development of the regions. It was emphasized that the elections were fundamentally different from the previous ones, as they were held under a mixed electoral system in accordance with the renewed Constitution and new legislation. He also highly appreciated that in accordance with the Election Code, at least 40 percent of candidates for deputies are women.
