The Sokh River is frozen
For the first time in the past 50 years, residents are witnessing the freezing of the Sokh River.
Sokh district is the pearl of Fergana region, its area is 220.7 square kilometers. Over 80 thousand people live here.
The Sokh River, flowing through the middle of the Sokh oasis, is fed by the waters of 99 glaciers located in the mountains of the Alay Range. Its total length is 172 kilometers. The river is used for irrigation of agricultural land in several districts of Kyrgyzstan, as well as Rishtan, Uzbekistan, Buvayda, Uchkuprik, Dangara, Oltiariq, Baghdad districts of Fergana region.
