The Uzbekistan delegation, led by Tanzila Narbayeva, Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, is participating in the 15th Summit of Women Speakers of Parliament of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Member States in Geneva, Switzerland, focusing on leadership for an inclusive and sustainable world.

This international platform has brought together women speakers of parliaments, as well as influential international experts who contribute to the promotion of inclusivity and sustainable development.

The summit program includes a discussion of the role of women in ensuring peace and security, including the implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1325, as well as consideration of modern threats such as climate change and gender-based violence on the Internet.

The first session of the summit will discuss the results and prospects of the women, peace, and security agenda over the past 25 years, as well as ongoing threats and development paths.

At the second session, participants will consider ways to overcome new global threats and share best practices.

The event will also feature debates, during which speakers will share their perspectives on current issues related to gender equality and digital threats.

A speech by the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis and several bilateral meetings are planned within the framework of the summit.
