Tashkent hosted a roundtable discussion “The Renewed Constitution of Uzbekistan – Basis for the Development of Innovations and Information Technologies”.

The event, organized by the Committee of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis on Innovative Development and Information Technologies in cooperation with the Innovative Development Agency, was attended by senior officials of state and public organizations, scientists, IT specialists, international experts, and media workers.

It was noted that the principles outlined in the Renewed Basic Law have elevated the reforms carried out in all areas, including information technology and innovation. The legal basis for the transition to the digital economy and infrastructure has been laid, and about 50 relevant legislative documents have been adopted in a short period of time.

The President’s speeches at the meetings of the Chambers of the Oliy Majlis emphasized the importance of the Renewed Constitution. In particular, article 33 stipulates that everyone has the right to seek, receive, and disseminate information, and the state creates conditions for providing access to the worldwide information network Internet.

At the event, held under the motto “My Constitution is 32 years old!”, much attention was paid to measures aimed at rallying citizens in the name of such ideas as people’s power, human value, freedom, equality, and social justice.
