At the invitation of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic, Robert Fico, is on an official visit to Uzbekistan.
On June 9, the distinguished guest, accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan, Jamshid Khodjayev, visited the New Uzbekistan Park and laid flowers at the Independence Monument.
During the tour of the complex, representatives of the Slovak delegation were informed about the concept and architectural solutions of the ensemble.
The New Uzbekistan Park and the Independence Monument were built to mark the 30th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence. The history of national statehood on the country’s territory spans over three thousand years, reflecting its deep historical roots. A close look at the monument reveals an artistic representation of this majestic history.
It has become a respected tradition for high-level guests and official foreign delegations visiting Uzbekistan to lay flowers at this monument. Members of the Slovak delegation paid special attention to the representations of prominent scholars, great military leaders, warriors, and Jadid reformers depicted in the complex. They particularly noted the symbol of the Humo bird, representing peace, freedom, and goodwill, which fittingly crowns this grand monument.
According to the visit program, high-level negotiations will be held to discuss further development of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Slovakia.
