On February 13, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Chairman of the Board of Directors of OTP Bank of Hungary, Sándor Csányi.

At the meeting, the positive dynamics of cooperation in the banking and financial sector were noted with satisfaction, including within the framework of the completed transaction to sell the state share in Ipoteka Bank to the OTP Group.

The Head of state emphasized the importance of improving the quality of the bank’s services through digitalization, introducing innovative and accessible financial products for small and family businesses, and training staff in the best European practices.

Issues of further deepening cooperation with leading Hungarian enterprises in agriculture, winemaking, irrigation, chemistry, pharmaceuticals, and other industries were also discussed, including based on a special economic zone created for Hungarian companies in Tashkent region.

In turn, Sándor Csányi confirmed the intention of the Hungarian business to expand its presence in the Uzbekistan market.

Following the meeting, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of OTP Bank expressed deep gratitude to the Leader of Uzbekistan for the high assessment of his activities and the presentation of the state award – the Dustlik (Friendship) Order.
