
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, met with the heads of leading Chinese companies – China State Construction, China General Nuclear Power, CAMCE, Goldwind, and ZTO Express.
The Head of State noted with satisfaction the traditionally strong interest of Chinese businesses in Uzbekistan. Last year alone, investments from China exceeded $10 billion.
In a conversation with Zheng Xuexuan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of China State Construction, the results of cooperation in the modernization of Tashkent’s road infrastructure were highly praised. Prospective plans for the creation of cultural facilities in Tashkent were also discussed.
An agreement was reached to launch a project for establishing an industrial zone in Tashkent region and the company’s participation in highway construction projects.
The talks with Yang Changli, Chairman of China General Nuclear Power Corporation, focused on strengthening the partnership in the mining sector. Interest was expressed in accelerating geological exploration and the development of new deposits. The company’s plans to construct a hybrid solar power plant and to implement customs cargo scanning technologies were supported.
With Wang Bo, Chairman of CAMCE, the results of joint work on the construction of the Olympic Village in the capital were reviewed. The rapid development of the “Yangi Avlod” industrial technopark in Tashkent, managed by the company, was noted.
Special attention was given to expanding the joint initiatives portfolio, particularly accelerating electric power and infrastructure development projects in New Tashkent.
An exchange of views was held with Wu Gang, Chairman of Goldwind, on the company’s participation in the development of green energy. In cooperation with the company, the production of components for wind power plants has already been established in Uzbekistan.
An agreement was reached on the further localization of wind turbine production and the acceleration of ongoing projects.
Hu Xiangliang, Head of ZTO Express, informed the President about the company’s plans to launch an online platform to facilitate customs clearance of goods and to establish smart logistics warehouses in Uzbekistan.
