Kurgan mahalla citizens’ assembly in Bukhara region’s Gijduvan district received the status of a Tourist Mahalla.
The Head of the Department of the Tourism Committee, Shukhrat Isakulov, the Head of the Regional Tourism Department, Sukhrobjon Bobokalonov, and other responsible officials became familiar with the conditions created in this mahalla.

The responsible officials visited the interdistrict (Gijduvan, Vabkent, Shafirkan districts) department of the regional tourism department, which is being created based on the Boborakhimboy Mosque in the tourist mahalla. Proposals aimed at further developing the tourist environment were heard at the meeting.
Mahalla activists exchanged views on the implementation of a project to restore the ancient fortress wall on the territory of the Kurgan tourist mahalla and organize handicraft rows of light construction around it.

In recent years, the active development of the tourism industry in rural areas has served to ensure employment in many regions of Uzbekistan.
