The X International Chess Tournament "Tashkent Open", dedicated to the memory of the first Uzbek grandmaster Georgy Agzamov, ended in the capital.

The tournament, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sport Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Uzbekistan Chess Federation in order to further popularize chess among young people, enriching the experience of the athletes, the general promotion of the Uzbek chess school’s opportunities, was attended by 116 chess players from ten countries.

The tournament was held in nine rounds by the Swiss system. Representatives of Uzbekistan Alisher Rustamov scored 7 points, Odil Rahmon, Bahodir Kholmirzaev - 6.5 points, Jahongir Vohidov, Alexei Barsov, Ulugbek Tillaev, Bobir Sattorov, Alisher Begmurodov, Saidakbar Saidaliev, Elbek Jumanov, Nikita Khoroshev scored 6 points.

Nodirbek Yakubboev (6.5 points), Ortik Nigmatov (6 points), Nilufar Yakubbaeva (5 points) became the winners among the chess players under 20 years.

Among boys under 10 years the first place was taken by Islombek Sindorov (4.5 points), among boys under 6 years old - Humoyun Begmurodov (4 points).

The best result among female chess players recorded by Gulrukhbegim Tokhirjonova (6.5 points), Sarvinoz Kurbonboeva and Sevara Baymuratova scored 5.5 points.

Among the veterans Akrom Tashkhodzhaev (6 points) ranked first, Vladimir Egin (5.5 points) - the second, Georgiy Li (5.5 points) - third place.

Farrukh Amonatov (7.5 points) from Tajikistan on additional indicators ranked first, Rauf Mamedov from Azerbaijan - the second, Alexander Zubarev from Ukraine with 7 points - the third place.
