A meeting took place between the Head of the Migration Agency, Bekhzod Musayev, and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Italy to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Piergabriele Papadia de Bottini.
The implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding on Migration and Mobility, signed during the official visit of the Prime Minister of the Italian Republic, Giorgia Meloni, to Uzbekistan on May 29 this year, was discussed at the meeting.

“The memorandum is a historic document that has been extensively worked on, and we advocate its early implementation”, the Ambassador noted. “Migration is an important area, and Uzbekistan, with its rich experience in this area, can become an example for partners in Central Asia”.

It was also noted that there is a high demand in Italy for qualified engineering, tourism, and agriculture specialists. Starting in 2026, it is planned to allocate a quota of 1,500 vacant jobs for Uzbekistan citizens.
It was emphasized that the current absence of illegal Uzbekistan citizens in Italy will be a powerful incentive for further practical cooperation.
