During the ceremony, the Leader of Cyprus congratulated the new ambassadors and wished them success in fulfilling their responsible tasks. In addition, the prospects for developing relations with Uzbekistan were touched upon.

“We will pay special attention to the development of bilateral relations with Uzbekistan, as well as cooperation within the European Union”, the President of Cyprus said.

Diplomatic relations with the Republic of Cyprus were established on May 30, 1997.
