On December 8, the Uzbekistan Boxing Championships among men and women with the participation of the winners of the Olympic Games and world championships, as well as winners of continental championships kicked off in Tashkent.

On the eve of the tournament, the National Olympic Committee held a press conference, a meeting of the technical commission and a draw ceremony.

At the event, the organizers informed about the preparatory work to organize and hold the championships at a high level, the importance of ensuring transparency in the preparation and refereeing of fights.

Answering journalists’ questions, experts said that such well-known boxers as Bakhodir Jalolov, Hasanboy Dusmatov, Mirazizbek Mirzakhalilov, Dilshodbek Ruzmetov, Lazizbek Mullajonov will take part in the championships. Winners of the continental championship Madiyor Saidrakhimov, Ruslan Abdullayev, Abdumalik Khalakov will not be able to participate in the championships due to injuries received at the Asian Championships.

Ensuring the transparency of the organization of fights and refereeing will be strictly controlled by specialists from Uzbekistan Boxing Federation. Within the framework of the championships, a two-day practical and theoretical workshop for boxing judges of Uzbekistan will be organized.

The matches of the championships will start today and will run until December 14.
