The artisans’ ancient workshop was found on the territory of the Sijjak mahalla citizens’ assembly in Tashkent region’s Bostanlyk district.
At the end of March this year, research work was carried out as part of the search and reconnaissance activities conducted in the area of the Charvak Reservoir.
Specialists have discovered traces of circular structures in the northeast of Sijjak mahalla citizens’ assembly, on the right bank of the Pskem River. Fragments of broken ceramic dishes and arrowheads were found around.

Then, the archaeological excavations were carried out in two pre-determined locations with the participation of students from the National University of Uzbekistan. During the studies, objects that have been preserved to this day have been identified: more than 15 pieces of round ceramic products, as well as a melting furnace.

A preliminary analysis of the scattered fragments of ceramics indicates that workshops of potters and blacksmiths were located in the period from the 9th to the 18th centuries. Continued research is planned to study this object more deeply.
