The Ambassador of Uzbekistan to India, Sardor Rustambayev, met with the Governor of the Indian state of Maharashtra, Ramesh Bais. The discussion focused on multifaceted cooperation between the two countries.

During the conversation, opportunities for expanding interregional partnerships and implementing promising joint projects were explored. Ambassador Sardor Rustambayev highlighted Uzbekistan’s achievements as part of large-scale reforms in recent years, emphasizing the creation of an attractive environment for foreign investors and entrepreneurs.

“Thanks to the close friendship and consistent efforts of the leaders of our two countries, the multifaceted ties between our peoples, which date back centuries, have reached a qualitatively new level, and interregional relations play a particularly significant role in this process”, he stated. 

The meeting participants discussed developing partnerships in key areas such as trade and economy, investments, information technology, agriculture, healthcare, tourism, culture, science, and education.

In addition, the parties agreed to develop proposals for establishing a sister-city relationship between one of the cities of Uzbekistan and the administrative center of Maharashtra State, Mumbai.
