The opening ceremony of the 17th Summer Paralympic Games was held in Paris.

This year, the opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games, like the Olympic Games, was held outside the stadium for the first time.

The flags of the participating countries were carried along the Champs-Élysées in Paris to the Place de la Concorde to the applause of about 65 thousand spectators.

The President of France Emmanuel Macron declared the Summer Paralympic Games open.

The Paralympic flag was carried onto the arena stage by the first disabled astronaut, John McFall.

At the ceremony, our brave Paralympians Khusniddin Norbekov and Mokhigul Khamdamova carried the flag of Uzbekistan high.

The Vice-President of the Asian Paralympic Committee, the Chairman of the National Paralympic Committee of Uzbekistan Mukhtorkhon Tashkhodjayev took part in the ceremony.

It should be noted that 4,400 para-athletes will compete in 20 sports at the 2024 Paralympic Games. During eleven days of competition, courageous para-athletes will compete for 549 medals. As at the recently held Paris Olympics, gender equality is observed at the 2024 Paralympic Games.
