On October 17-18, 2024, Termez will host an international scientific-practical conference “The role of Imam Termizi’s scientific heritage in the development of Islamic civilization”.

It is expected that famous Islamic scientists, ulemas, scientists, and researchers from Uzbekistan and many other countries, such as Türkiye, Qatar, Pakistan, India, and Kyrgyzstan, will participate in it.

In accordance with the Presidential Resolution adopted on August 15, 2024, “On the wide celebration of the 1200th anniversary of Termizi’s birth”, careful preparations for the conference are underway in the region.

“The priceless legacy of our great ancestor Imam Termizi is a huge spiritual treasure that has not lost its importance for centuries”, says Muzaffarkhon Joniyev, Director of the International Research Center of Imam Termezi. “Active preparations are underway to celebrate the 1200th anniversary of the outstanding thinker’s birth. Preparations are also being organized in our region to hold an authoritative international scientific-practical conference at a high level. Special attention is also paid to improving the road infrastructure leading to the place of worship of Imam Termizi, landscaping the memorial complex and adjacent territories”.

As part of these events, an exhibition of unique manuscripts and editions of books dedicated to the life, scientific, and creative heritage of Imam Termizi and other thinkers from Termez is also planned.
